I have a big personality, a big heart, and a big dream. A dream to solve a billion-person, world-wide problem. Do you think that’s a little impossible? I don’t!

My Story...

I am committed to eliminate, demolish, annihilate chronic diseases off the face of the earth! People should NOT have to suffer.  PEOPLE.CAN.LIVE. WHOLE. LONG.HEALTHY.LIVES!

Chronic diseases, like irritable bowel, diabetes, heart disease and auto-immune diseases, are such a scourge to our health and our healthcare system. People get so sick from how they treat their body’s and it doesn’t have to be that way.

I grew up knowing about health

I grew up in a home where my parents inspired us to eat healthy and keep moving. Even now, well into their 80s, my mom and dad are active and medication-free! It was actually my mom that introduced me to natural health care at 19 years old—and it really resonated. Looking at the person as a whole, not just a diseased part.

Dancing was my passion from a very early age and yet, Istruggled with my weight, and body image was a big deal for me. But, I started to approach weight from a wellness perspective. Learning to look at the whole body, and not just a number on a scale, allowed weight to become less of the focus, and I looked at “health” for the long term.

Traditional Medicine or Chiropractic School

At the time, I already had one foot in the door of medical school with hopes to focus on female healthcare. But, a push from Mom’s wisdom to experience what it was like to see a chiropractor, and my thought process took a pretty quick 180. I knew it just felt right!

Turns out, I love school and have accomplished plenty of it! Bachelor degrees in Biology & Psychology, a second Bachelor’s degree in Human Biology, Doctor of Chiropractic, post doctoral Masters of Advanced Clinical Science, and hundreds of post-graduate hours in Functional and clinical nutrition, internal medicine, and chiropractic care.

A Leap of Faith

Finally armed, ready, and able to take a leap into owning my own Functional Medicine and Chiropractic practice, my practice doors opened in 1992 which became Restor Healing Centre in 2007, and is just Dr Kris Sargent, Health and Life Coach as of 2019.

To totally blow my open horn, I am one of the most experienced Functional Medicine doctors in the country. Now, I am going to bring my expertise to health and life coaching - the best of functional medicine, weight loss and life transformation

My focus is on healing the body by restoring function through natural methods. And chronic conditions like auto-immune, hormone imbalances, Irritable Bowel and digestive issues, weight control are faves.

I like to describe the difference between traditional medicine and functional medicine like this:

  • Medical doctors ask, ‘Are you sick yet? If you are, I have drugs and surgery. If you aren’t, I can’t help you.’
  • While in functional medicine the question is, ‘What do we need to do to prevent you from ever getting sick?’

There is a place for traditional medicine. I am not a medical foe and medical doctors are necessary. They are needed for acute situations of illnesses, injuries or accidents.

Chronic diseases don’t happen overnight or develop spur of the moment. Diabetes, autoimmune disorders and all other chronic disorders are created  over time. They are created as the body’s response to being treated poorly. From my wellness perspective, you can prevent the onset of illness, and you can take control of your lifestyle so your body can heal.

I  encourage you to pay attention and respond to your body’s signals. So what is this all about? What do I actually do to obliterate these issues at the root? The answer is Simply Functional Medicine... Eat. Drink. Move. Sleep. Think and Feel …WELL!! To stay healthy, these are the foundation of health! These must be controlled first for the body to actually heal.
